Veneer deteriorations sometimes originate from an alteration of the frame. As a result, an in-depth study of the general state, structure, veneers, oxidation and finish is absolutely necessary to restore veneered or marquetry furniture.
Marquetry grafts are executed with a respect of the nature of the original veneer, sawn or sliced, timber species, veins and colour.
All the veneer or marquetry parts are rehydrated to give back dehydrated glue the adhesive power it lost over time. Such rehydration may be carried out in vacuum conditions for optimum results.
If the finish can be preserved, we merely clean it. Otherwise, we execute filled and waxed finishing or French polish.
